Le 15 octobre dernier, l'équipe U18F R1 s'est vêtue de rose pour sensibiliser au cancer du sein. Cette initiative des éducateurs avait avant tout un objectif éducatif pour les joueuses-elles-mêmes, mais était aussi une opportunité pour collaborer avec une entreprise de la région. Kevin, le coach de l'équipe, explique comment cette action a été possible :
"Nous avons eu l'opportunité que l'entreprise Demarne nous offre généreusement un jeu de maillot pour la cause et nous remercions son PDG pour ça. L'idée était de sensibiliser les filles et participer à notre niveau à cette période d'Octobre Rose."
Tout l'effectif de l'équipe a été fourni en maillots roses pour le match contre VGA St. Maur. Elles ont fièrement arboré leurs nouvelles tenues sous les yeux d'une vingtaine de supporters, famille, coachs, et - bien sûr- leurs adversaires. C'était l'occasion pour elles de jouer un rôle actif dans la sensibilisation contre le cancer du sein. Ce fléau concerne tout le monde, et Kevin en est bien conscient :
"La lutte contre le cancer du sein est importante et les filles y seront probablement confrontées de près ou de loin. Si le simple fait de porter un maillot rose le temps d'un match a pu leur rappeler que ce fléau existe, nous sommes satisfait."
